Loans for serious entrepreneurs.
Urban Market Investments provides loans to entrepreneurs with a history of loan repayment. Often, they have a definite event or need for financing, such as location expansion or asset acquisition. They’re too big for microfinance, but still too small for banks to seriously consider them. Through this program, UMI will specifically fund:
- Businesses that are more than an idea and gaining some momentum ($25-100K revenue).
- Successful small businesses that need a significant investment in their growth but don’t yet meet the criteria major lenders require for loans ($100-400k in revenue).
UMI’s intent is to be simply a lender, not to acquire businesses. However, depending on the nature of the business and/or other factors, there is room for discussion around creative solutions such as equity stakes, etc.
